Introduction

Let’s make your hammer as tough and unique as you are.

Laser marking can add your name, logo, or custom artwork directly onto the metal hammer head. It is perfect for preventing tool mix-ups on busy job sites, adding value for customers, or creating a personalized tool that reflects your craftsmanship.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to level the hammer, import the marking file, check the marking layers, set the correct focus, frame the design, and complete a personalized metal hammer with Aurora Lite.

Operational Process

STEP01

Level & Position the Hammer

Place the hammer on the laser bed and level the hammer head before laser marking.

Since the hammer head is usually thicker than the handle, raise the handle until the marking surface is level. Use a small level to check the hammer head. When the bubble stays centered, rotate the level and check again. If the bubble is still centered, the hammer is ready.

STEP02

Import & Check the Marking File

Load your design into LightBurn software, then adjust the size and position to fit the hammer head.

This project includes two marking layers. The black layer creates a gold-brown marking effect, while the red layer adds a white marking effect. Check the layer settings carefully before processing.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Missing the focus is one of the biggest reasons for laser marking failure. Make sure the hammer head surface is properly focused before processing.

You can use auto focus or manual focus. When the focus is accurate, the marked details will appear cleaner and more consistent on the metal surface.

STEP04

Frame the Design & Start Laser Marking

Press the frame button and check whether the red light indicates the correct marking area. The frame should be located on the hammer head.

If the frame is not aligned, adjust the design position until it fits correctly. After checking, close the laser door and begin the Aurora Lite laser marking process.

Post Processing

Stay near the machine during operation and monitor for unusual sounds or alarms. Avoid looking directly at the laser beam for too long, even when protective measures are in place.

Once laser marking is complete, carefully open the door and remove the personalized hammer. Clean the marked surface gently if needed, then it is ready for use, display, or customer delivery.
