Key Information
Introduction
A personalized slate coaster is a simple way to add restaurant branding directly to the table while keeping the finished piece practical for everyday use.
Restaurant logos, names, table numbers, short messages, or decorative graphics can be marked onto the natural slate surface to create a coordinated coaster set for cafés, bars, restaurants, and other hospitality spaces.
The same layout can be repeated across a full set or adjusted for different tables, events, menu themes, and seasonal designs.

Before your work begins
Operational Process
Prepare & Position the Material
Wipe the slate coaster clean and make sure the surface is dry before placing it on the laser worktable.
Position the coaster with the flat marking surface facing upward. Keep it stable and leave enough clearance around the edges so the restaurant logo or custom design can be centered cleanly on the slate.
Import & Adjust the Design File
Import the restaurant logo, name, text, or graphic into LightBurn and resize it to fit the available marking area on the coaster.
Check the artwork orientation, spacing, and distance from the coaster edges. If you are producing a matching restaurant set, keep the design size and placement consistent across each coaster.
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Set the correct working height for the top surface of the slate coaster before starting the marking process.
Check the focus at the area where the design will be placed. Because natural slate can have slight surface variation, make sure the coaster sits flat and use the main marking area as the reference point.
Frame the Design & Start Laser Marking
Run the Frame function first to preview the marking position and confirm that the complete design sits within the intended area of the slate coaster.
Check the logo or artwork alignment one final time, then start the marking process. Keep the coaster in the same position until processing is complete and monitor the job to make sure the material does not move.
Post Processing
Remove the coaster from the marking area and inspect the finished logo or design for clear details, consistent contrast, and correct placement.
Gently wipe the slate surface with a soft cloth to remove loose dust or residue. Clean around the natural edges as needed, then allow the coaster to dry completely before placing it on the table or adding it to a matching restaurant set.
