Key Information
Introduction
A laser-marked aluminum pen is a simple way to turn an everyday writing tool into something personal and easy to identify.
Names, logos, short messages, or simple graphics can be marked directly onto the pen surface, making this project useful for personalized gifts, branded office supplies, event giveaways, and small custom orders.
Once the basic setup is ready, you can quickly change the artwork for different names, logos, or designs while keeping the same marking workflow.

Before your work begins
Operational Process
Prepare & Position the Aluminum Pen
Clean the aluminum pen and make sure the marking area is free from dust, fingerprints, oil, or other surface residue.
Place the pen securely in the working area with the section you want to mark facing upward. Keep the pen stable so it cannot roll or rotate during marking, and position the artwork over the most level part of the curved surface.
Import & Adjust the Design File
Import the name, logo, text, or graphic into LaserMaker and resize the artwork to fit the available marking area on the pen.
Check the artwork orientation carefully so the finished design reads correctly when the pen is held or placed on a desk. Set the marking parameters to 1700mm/s speed, 25% power, 50kHz frequency, DPI 0.02, and 5 passes.
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Begin by using the machine's Auto Focus function to focus on the leather surface.
Once auto focusing is complete, manually raise the laser head by 3mm to apply the required defocus distance. This defocused setting produces a cleaner, darker mark on leather while reducing the chance of overburning.
Frame the Design & Start Laser Marking
Before processing, use the Frame function to preview the marking area and verify that the design is correctly positioned on the bottle opener.
Once everything is aligned, start the laser marking process. Monitor the machine while it is running and make sure the leather remains securely in place until the marking is complete.
Post Processing
Remove the pen from the marking area and inspect the finished design for consistent coverage, clean edges, and correct alignment.
Wipe the marked area gently with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove loose residue or fingerprints. Use a suitable non-abrasive cleaner for the pen finish if additional cleaning is needed, then dry the surface before handling or packaging the finished pen.
