Introduction

Are you still thinking about what you can make with a laser?

Take a look at these unique laser-cut coasters. A laser engraver can not only engrave text and patterns on coasters, but also cut and separate pieces through precise cutting.

These double-layer wooden coasters are decorative, functional, and can be split into inner and outer parts for a more creative design.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Wood

Place the beech wood flat on the laser bed and make sure the surface is clean and level.

Secure the wood if needed so it does not shift during engraving and cutting. A flat, stable board helps improve the coaster cutting quality.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the coaster design file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, engraving settings, and cutting settings according to the beech wood.

Check the engraved details, outer cut lines, and inner separable parts before starting the laser job.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for both clean engraving and smooth cutting on wood.

If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the wood surface at the correct angle.

STEP04

Frame the Design and Start Laser Engraving and Cutting

Use the Frame function to check the processing area and confirm that the coaster design stays within the beech wood board.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine and monitor the engraving and cutting process carefully.

Complete the Task

After processing, remove the coaster pieces from the laser bed and check whether the engraving and cutting edges are clean.

This double-layer coaster can be used as a complete set or separated into inner and outer parts. Use them with someone you want to share a sweet moment with.
