Key Information
Introduction
Want to turn an ordinary silver ring into a personalized keepsake?
Laser marking makes it possible to add clean, precise, and long-lasting details to jewelry. Whether you are creating custom wedding gifts, personalized accessories, branded pieces, or meaningful keepsakes, a marked silver ring can carry a name, date, symbol, or special design.
In this tutorial, you will learn how to position a silver ring, import the marking file, set the correct focus, frame the design, and complete a professional laser marking result with Aurora Lite.
Before your work begins
Operational Process
Prepare & Position the Silver Ring
Because rings are small and difficult to stabilize during marking, use a custom jig or clamp to hold the silver ring securely in place.
If you are marking around a curved ring surface, a rotary attachment is helpful for keeping the marking even and continuous. Make sure the ring is level and tightly fixed, because even slight movement can cause misaligned or distorted marking.
Import & Adjust the Marking File
Open your preferred laser software, such as LaserMaker or LightBurn, and import your design file. SVG, DXF, or image files can be used depending on your design.
Adjust the size, rotation, and position of the design to match the exact area you want to mark on the ring. Always double-check the design dimensions and use the preview or frame function to avoid accidental misplacement.
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Focus is the key to a successful laser marking result. If the focus is ignored, the final ring detail may not be sharp or consistent.
You can use the red-dot focus method or manual focus. For manual focus, adjust the laser head until the focus stick just touches the ring surface in a vertical position.
Frame the Design & Start Laser Marking
Use the frame or outline function to preview the marking area. The red light should show the marking outline on the ring surface.
If the frame is not aligned, move the ring or adjust the design position until they match. Once everything is ready, start laser marking with Aurora Lite and monitor the process carefully.
Post Processing
Keep an eye on the machine during marking so you can spot unusual conditions, such as error alarms, smoke build-up, or unexpected pauses.
Once marking is complete, wait a few seconds before opening the machine lid to let any residual fumes dissipate. Carefully remove the silver ring, inspect the marking, and gently wipe away surface residue or dust with a soft, dry cloth if needed.
Come and Try!
With the right setup and a bit of creativity, you can create professional-quality designs that stand out on silver jewelry.
Get ready with your silver ring, start your Aurora Lite, and create your own personalized keepsake. A small mark can turn a simple ring into something meaningful, memorable, and uniquely yours.
