Key Information
Introduction
If you’ve been looking for a simple yet stylish laser project, this wooden “Reserved” sign is a perfect start.
With just a few materials and the precision of a laser cutter, you can create a professional-looking table sign that instantly upgrades any space—whether it’s for a restaurant, a wedding, or your home dinner setup. Let’s turn a plain piece of wood into a sign that makes every guest feel special.
Before your work begins
Operational Process
Prepare & Position the Material
Start by laying your wooden board flat on the laser bed. Make sure the surface is clean and sits evenly without warping.
Use pins to prevent any shifting during cutting. Be mindful of the height of magnets and pins. If they are too tall, the sensor might hit them and become damaged during processing.
Import & Adjust the Design File
Open your laser software, such as LaserMaker, and import the design file. Adjust the layout so it fits properly within your material size.
Before moving on, double-check your cutting parameters to match the thickness and type of wood you’re using.
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Proper focusing ensures neat, polished edges. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the wood surface at a perfect angle. Always double-check before cutting.
Start Cutting
Click “Frame” or “Border” to preview your cutting area and make sure the design fits nicely on your board. This confirms your material placement and avoids wasting wood. Adjust as necessary.
Once everything is set, start the laser job. Stay close to the machine while it’s running and watch the cutting progress. Keep an eye out for excessive smoke, small flame-ups, or any movement of the material that could affect the outcome.
Post Processing
Once all the pieces are cut, gently remove them from the laser bed. Fold the panels along the designed slots and tabs, then join them together to form your hollow floral box.
You can add a ribbon or decorative tie if you want a more romantic finish. Check the finished box for stability before using it to hold small gifts or wedding favors.
Come and Try!
Try crafting your own laser-cut floral boxes—each one becomes a tiny piece of art filled with love. Whether you’re preparing a whole batch for your big day or making a single box as a keepsake, you’ll be amazed at how meaningful and magical a simple sheet of wood can become.
