Introduction

Are you still looking for what you can make with a laser cutter?

Try cutting a large dinosaur model from plywood. Laser cutting is widely used for wooden models because it can create accurate slots, outlines, and assembly parts.

After cutting and assembling the dinosaur pieces, you can decorate the model with paint, LED lights, or sound effects to make it more dramatic and fun.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Plywood

Place the 9mm plywood sheet flat on the laser working table and make sure the surface is clean and stable.

Secure the plywood if needed so it does not shift during cutting. The design should also be adjusted according to the actual type and size of the material before processing.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Design the dinosaur model file in CorelDraw, then send it to the laser software using the laser plug-in.

Input the cutting parameters, check the processing mode, and download the file to the laser cutter. The settings are only for reference, so users should test to find the best settings for their own material and machine.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Move the laser head to the correct starting position and adjust the focal distance before cutting.

After focusing, press the Origin button to set the starting point. Accurate focusing helps achieve cleaner edges and more reliable cutting results on plywood.

STEP04

Frame the Design & Start Laser Cutting

Use the Frame function to check the cutting area and confirm that the dinosaur model design stays within the plywood sheet.

Once everything is aligned, press Start to run the laser cutting job. Stay near the machine and monitor the cutting process carefully.

Come and Try!

Plywood is a practical material for laser-cut models because it is strong enough for assembly and easy to process into detailed shapes.

With laser cutting, you can turn flat wooden sheets into a large dinosaur model and enjoy the fun of building, decorating, and displaying your own creation.
