Key Information
Introduction
With Children’s Day coming up, it’s a great time to create something that’s both fun to build and exciting to display.
A laser-cut eagle model combines hands-on assembly with creative design, making it a project kids and parents can enjoy together.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to laser cut and assemble a wooden eagle model step by step using 3mm plywood. The finished piece works as both a toy-like model and a decorative display.
Before your work begins
Operational Process
Prepare & Position the Material
Prepare a 3mm plywood sheet with a suitable size for the eagle model design. Place it flat on the laser bed and make sure it stays within the machine’s working area.
Before processing, wipe the surface clean to remove dust, fingerprints, or loose debris. If the plywood is slightly warped, use magnets or pins to secure the corners and keep the material stable during cutting.
Import & Adjust the Design File
Open your laser software, such as LaserMaker, and import the eagle model design file.
Adjust the cutting parameters according to your plywood settings. Check that all structural parts and slot connections are properly arranged before sending the file to the laser machine.
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Set the laser focus to the surface of the plywood before starting the job.
Proper focus helps produce cleaner cutting edges and more accurate slot fitting, which is especially important for model assembly.
Frame the Design & Start Laser Cutting
Before processing, use the frame function to preview the cutting area. This helps confirm that all model parts are correctly positioned on the material.
Once everything is aligned, start the cutting process. Stay nearby while the machine is running and ensure ventilation is working properly throughout the job.
Post Processing
After processing is complete, remove all parts from the laser bed and gently clean away dust or residue.
Assemble the eagle model according to the structure and use glue where needed to secure the parts firmly in place.
Your Children’s Day eagle model is now complete and ready to display.
Come and Try!
Building a model together always feels more memorable when it’s handmade.
