Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Pick cheerful, sun-inspired materials to bring your Corky Sun Memo Board to life. This design uses white and orange acrylic for the sunburst layers, plus cork for the center memo area.

Place the acrylic or cork flat on the laser bed and make sure it stays secure. Use pins or magnets to prevent shifting during engraving and cutting.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the Corky Sun Memo Board design into LightBurn and check whether your material size is large enough. To help the center decoration sit perfectly on the base, add or keep an outline guide for easier alignment during assembly.

Double-check the file for misalignments or unnecessary overlaps. Make sure the engraving and cutting parameters are set correctly, especially the minimum power for clean corners.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is critical for achieving clean engraving and smooth cutting results on acrylic and cork. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the material surface at the correct angle.

STEP04

Start Engraving & Cutting

Use the Frame function to outline the engraving and cutting area. Make sure the projected frame matches your acrylic or cork sheet and the design stays within the material boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and watch the engraving and cutting progress. Keep an eye out for excessive smoke, alarms, or any movement of the material that could affect the result.

Post Processing

When the laser job is complete, carefully remove the acrylic and cork pieces from the laser bed. Wipe away dust or residue before assembly.

Assemble the memo board layer by layer. Glue the white and orange acrylic pieces onto the base, then align the cork smile face at the center. Once everything is secured, your Corky Sun Memo Board is ready to use.
