Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Choose flat sheets of colorful paper and place them gently on the laser honeycomb bed without wrinkling them.

Flat magnets or painter’s tape are great for holding colorful paper in place and preventing movement during cutting.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the butterfly candy box design into LightBurn and check whether your paper size is large enough. Double-check the layout and make sure the parameters are set correctly for clean laser cutting.

For the cutting layers, pay extra attention to the minimum power setting. If the min power is too low, the corners may not cut through; if it is too high, the corners may look rough.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving clean paper cutting results. If your machine has auto focus, press the AF button on the Thunder Bolt screen. For manual focusing, adjust the z-axis height until the focal stick touches the paper surface.

Start Cutting

Use the Frame function to outline the laser cutting area. Make sure the projected frame matches your paper sheet and the design stays within the material boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and watch the cutting progress. Keep an eye out for excessive smoke, alarms, or any movement of the paper that could affect the result.

Post Processing

When the laser cutting is complete, carefully remove the paper pieces from the honeycomb bed. No special treatment is required; simply take them out and lightly wipe away any dust from the surface.

Fold and assemble the butterfly candy boxes, then customize them with your favorite ribbons or small decorations. Once finished, they are ready for sweets, keepsakes, party favors, or festive table settings.
