Introduction

Is your fridge bare and unadorned?

Customize it with laser-cut fridge magnets made just for you. Lasers are great for creating unique patterns and text through precision engraving and cutting, while your blank fridge becomes the perfect canvas for your creativity.

Beyond decoration, these magnets are also useful for holding reminders, notes, photos, and small lists.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Prepare two acrylic sheets and place the acrylic flat on the laser bed. A clean, stable surface helps keep the engraved details sharp and the cut shapes accurate.

Secure the acrylic if needed to prevent shifting during engraving and cutting, especially when processing small magnet shapes and detailed patterns.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the acrylic fridge magnet file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and settings according to your acrylic sheets.

Double-check the engraving and cutting layers before starting. Make sure the magnet outlines, decorative patterns, and text are correctly placed.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving detailed engraving and clean cutting edges on acrylic. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the acrylic surface at the correct angle.

STEP04

Start Engraving & Cutting

Use the Frame function to outline the laser processing area. Make sure the projected frame matches your acrylic sheet and the fridge magnet design stays within the material boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving and cutting process carefully.

Post Processing

When the engraving and cutting are complete, carefully remove the acrylic magnet pieces from the laser bed.

Apply glue to the back of the acrylic sheet that will face down, then stick the two acrylic sheets together. Finally, attach the magnetic tiles to the back so the finished magnets can hold securely on the fridge.
