Introduction

Are your books often scattered or hard to keep organized?

Try making custom bookends with a laser cutter. A simple laser-cut structure can help keep your books neat, tidy, and easier to display.

This project is suitable for desks, bookshelves, classrooms, reading corners, or any space where you want both organization and a handmade decorative touch.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Wood

Prepare the plywood sheet and place it flat on the laser working table.

Keep the wood sheet stable before cutting. The design should also be adjusted according to the actual type and size of the material before processing.

Import & Adjust the Design File

Draw or prepare the bookend design file in CorelDraw, then switch to the laser software using the laser plug-in.

Set the proper cutting parameters in the laser software, then click Download to transfer the design to your laser cutting machine.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Move the laser head to the correct starting position and adjust the focal distance before cutting.

After focusing, press Origin on the control panel to set the starting position. Accurate focusing helps achieve cleaner paper cutting results.
