Introduction

Are you still looking for what you can make with a laser cutter?

Try making a red dragon paper-cut artwork. Paper cutting is a traditional Chinese art form with a long history, and the dragon design adds a festive and eye-catching look.

Compared with hand cutting, laser cutting can create detailed paper art more quickly and accurately, helping you make clean patterns with less waste.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Paper

Place the red paper sheet flat on the laser working table and make sure the surface is clean and stable.

Secure the paper if needed so it does not shift during cutting. The design should also be adjusted according to the actual type and size of the material before processing.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Design the red dragon paper-cut file in CorelDraw, then send it to the laser software using the laser plug-in.

Input the cutting parameters, check the processing mode, and download the file to the laser cutter. The settings are only for reference, so users should test to find the best settings for their own material and machine.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Move the laser head to the correct starting position and adjust the focal distance before cutting.

After focusing, press the Origin button to set the starting point. Accurate focusing helps create cleaner cut edges and more detailed paper-cut patterns.

STEP04

Frame the Design & Start Laser Cutting

Use the Frame function to check the cutting area and confirm that the red dragon design stays within the paper sheet.

Once everything is aligned, press Start to run the laser cutting job. Stay near the machine and monitor the cutting process carefully.

Complete the Task

After the laser cutting machine finishes working, carefully remove the dragon paper art from the laser bed.

Check the cut details and gently separate any delicate areas if needed. Your red dragon paper-cut artwork is now complete.
