Introduction

Laser marking on fishing souvenir pins turns simple accessories into lasting memories.

Whether it is the date of a legendary catch, a favorite lake, or a personal message, laser marking captures each detail with precision and care, making every brass pin feel meaningful and one of a kind.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to position brass pins, import the marking file, set the correct focus, frame the design, and create personalized fishing souvenir pins with Aurora 8.

Before your work begins

Make sure the machine is connected and operating normally
Remove the lens cover before marking
Keep the brass pins clean, level, and stable on the laser bed
Test the black and white marking settings before processing the final pins

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Brass Pins

Place the brass pins on the laser bed and make sure each pin sits flat and stable.

Use a basswood board as a backing layer to help prevent damage to the laser bed during laser marking. Clean the pin surface before processing so the design can appear sharp and consistent.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Marking File

Load your design into LightBurn software, then adjust the size and position to fit the brass pins.

The parameters for white marking and black marking are different, so check both laser marking parameter groups carefully before starting.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Missing the focus is one of the biggest reasons for laser marking failure. Make sure the brass pin surface is properly focused before processing.

You can use auto focus or manual focus. When two red dots are visible on the brass pin, it is out of focus. When the two light dots overlap each other, the surface is in focus.

STEP04

Frame the Design & Start Laser Marking

Press the frame button and check whether the red light indicates the correct marking area. The frame should be located in the middle of the brass pin.

If the frame is not aligned, adjust the design position until it fits correctly. After checking, close the laser door and begin the Aurora 8 laser marking process.

Post Processing

Stay near the machine during operation and monitor for unusual sounds or alarms. Avoid looking directly at the laser beam for too long, even when protective measures are in place.

Once laser marking is complete, carefully open the door and remove your personalized brass pins. After a simple cleaning, the pins are ready to wear, display, or give as fishing-themed souvenirs.
