Introduction
Want to turn an ordinary brass belt buckle into a personalized statement piece with laser marking?
In this quick guide, you will learn how to mark brass buckles with crisp, permanent designs. It is a great way to create custom gifts, upgrade leather belts, or add a professional touch to handmade accessories.
With the right setup and careful focusing, Aurora Lite can create detailed laser marking results on brass belt buckles, making each piece look clean, personal, and ready to impress.
Before your work begins
Operational Process
Prepare & Position the Brass Belt Buckle
Lay the brass belt buckle flat on the laser bed. Since the buckle is relatively smooth and stable, no jig is required, but make sure it sits level to avoid skewed markings.
If you want extra stability, place a small piece of non-slip mat under the buckle. A stable position helps keep the marking result clean and consistent.
Import & Adjust the Marking File
Open your preferred laser software, such as LaserMaker or LightBurn, and import your design file. SVG, DXF, or image files can be used depending on your design.
Adjust the size, rotation, and position of the design to match the exact area you want to mark on the brass belt buckle. Always double-check the design dimensions and use the preview or frame function to avoid accidental misplacement.
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Focus is the key to a successful laser marking result. If the focus is ignored, the final result may not be satisfying.
With Aurora Lite, you can use the red-dot pointer to assist focusing. Adjust the laser head until the two red dots overlap. You can also use manual focus with a focus stick by adjusting the laser head until the focus stick just touches the material surface in a vertical position.
Frame the Design & Start Laser Marking
Click Frame to show the outline of the marking area with red light. The red light should appear on the target area of the brass belt buckle.
If the frame is not aligned, move the brass belt buckle or adjust the design until both positions match. Once everything is ready, click Start to begin laser marking with Aurora Lite.
Post Processing
When the marking is finished and the buckle has cooled, clean the surface with water and a toothbrush to remove metal residue. You can also use a soft dry cloth or microfiber towel, but avoid harsh chemicals that could damage the brass finish.
Come and Try!
With the right setup and a bit of creativity, you can easily craft professional-quality designs that stand out.
Get ready with your brass belt buckle, start your Aurora Lite, and create your own personalized accessory. Whether it is for personal use or a gift, this marked brass buckle can become a polished and memorable piece.
