Introduction

Still pondering what to create with your laser engraver?

Customize a wooden menu board for your restaurant. Laser engraving the restaurant logo, name, or decorative details can make the menu board look more personalized and professional.

You can also use clips on the menu board to hold paper menus, making it easier and more enjoyable for customers to read your offerings.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Prepare the MDF board and place it flat on the laser bed. A clean, stable surface helps keep the engraved logo, text, and decorative details clear.

Secure the board if needed to prevent shifting during engraving, especially when processing fine lettering or detailed logo elements.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the wooden menu board design file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and engraving settings according to your MDF board.

Check the restaurant logo, name, layout, and decorative elements before starting. Make sure all details fit within the usable board area.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving clear engraving on MDF. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the board surface at the correct angle.
