Before your work begins
Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally
Operational Process
STEP01
Prepare & Position the Material
Prepare the tree bark coaster blank and place it flat on the laser bed. A stable surface helps keep the engraved mountain design clear and consistent.
Secure the tree bark if needed to prevent shifting during engraving. Since natural bark can vary in thickness and texture, make sure the engraving area is as level as possible.
STEP02
Import & Adjust the Design File
Import the tree bark coaster design file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and engraving settings according to the coaster surface.
Double-check the mountain motif and engraving area before starting. Make sure the design fits within the natural wood ring and avoids uneven bark edges.
STEP03
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Accurate focusing is important for achieving clear engraving on natural tree bark. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the engraving surface at the correct angle.
STEP04
Start Engraving
Use the Frame function to outline the laser engraving area. Make sure the projected frame matches the coaster surface and the design stays within the selected boundary.
Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving process carefully.
STEP05
Post Processing
When the engraving is complete, carefully remove the tree bark coaster from the laser bed.
Lightly clean the engraved surface if needed. Your custom tree bark coaster is ready to use, display, or pair with other natural-style handmade pieces.
