Introduction

Showcase your creativity with a one-of-a-kind custom cutting board!

Using precise laser engraving, you can etch unique patterns and text onto a practical wooden board. From artistic doodles to favorite quotes, every design can be neatly engraved onto the surface.

The soft wood grain complements the crisp engraving, turning everyday cooking and kitchen display into a more personal art form.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Prepare the solid wood plank and place it flat on the laser bed. A clean, stable surface helps keep the engraved pattern sharp and consistent.

Secure the wood if needed to prevent shifting during engraving, especially when working with detailed text, decorative lines, or kitchen-themed patterns.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the cutting board engraving file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and engraving settings according to your wood plank.

Double-check the design placement before starting. Make sure your text or pattern is centered and positioned where it will not interfere with the main cutting area.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving clear engraving on wood. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the wood surface at the correct angle.

Start Engraving

Use the Frame function to outline the engraving area. Make sure the projected frame matches your cutting board and the design stays within the selected boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving process carefully.
