Introduction

Let's make a dual-purpose leather bottle opener and coaster!

Engrave your designs or text onto this leather square bottle opener. After opening beverages or beers, simply flip it over and use the other side as a coaster.

The transparent glass bottom allows the engraved patterns to show through, turning a simple opener into a stylish and functional accent piece.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Prepare the leather bottle opener and place the engraving area flat on the laser bed. A clean, stable surface helps keep the engraved pattern sharp and consistent.

Secure the leather bottle opener gently if needed to prevent shifting during engraving, while keeping the glass and opener structure properly positioned.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the leather bottle opener file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and engraving settings according to the leather surface.

Double-check the design placement before starting. Make sure your text or pattern is centered and fits within the area you want to engrave.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving clean engraving on leather. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the leather surface at the correct angle.

Start Engraving

Use the Frame function to outline the laser engraving area. Make sure the projected frame matches the leather square and the custom design stays within the selected boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving process carefully.
