Introduction

Are you still looking for what you can make with a laser?

Try personalizing a kraft paper notebook in just a short time. A notebook is already useful for writing, studying, sketching, and planning, but a custom cover makes it feel more special.

With laser engraving, you can add names, patterns, quotes, or simple artwork to the notebook cover and make everyday writing more enjoyable.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Notebook

Place the kraft paper notebook flat on the laser bed and make sure the cover surface is clean and smooth.

Secure the notebook if needed so it does not shift during engraving. The design should also be adjusted according to the actual type and size of the material before processing.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the kraft paper notebook design file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and engraving settings according to the notebook cover.

Check that the name, pattern, quote, or artwork is placed within the desired engraving area before starting the laser job.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for clean engraving on kraft paper.

If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it reaches the correct working distance from the notebook cover.

Frame the Design and Start Laser Engraving

Use the Frame function to check the engraving area and confirm that the design stays within the kraft paper notebook cover.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser engraving job. Stay near the machine and monitor the process to avoid excessive marking or heat buildup on the paper cover.
