Introduction

Let’s DIY an awesome double-headed bottle opener!

It has openings on one end for opening bottles, plus a round hole on the other side so you can hang it up when not in use. The middle part features a comfortable leather grip that can be customized with engraved words, images, or creative patterns.

Mix text and cool designs to make this everyday tool totally your own.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Prepare the leather bottle opener and place the leather engraving area flat on the laser bed. A stable, even surface helps keep the engraved text and pattern clear.

Secure the bottle opener gently if needed to prevent shifting during engraving, while keeping the metal parts away from the active engraving area.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the bottle opener engraving file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and engraving settings according to the leather grip area.

Double-check the text and graphic placement before starting. Make sure the custom design is centered and fits within the leather area you want to engrave.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving clean engraving on leather. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the leather surface at the correct angle.

Start Engraving

Use the Frame function to outline the engraving area. Make sure the projected frame matches the leather grip area and the custom design stays within the selected boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving process carefully.
