Introduction

Still pondering what to do with your laser machine?

Come and create a Christmas box. You might have made plenty of Christmas decorations and gifts, so why not gather them all in a box with the same festive spirit?

Engrave Christmas blessings and tree patterns onto a special cane box. When opened, it reveals neatly arranged Christmas creations, bringing holiday joy both inside and out.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Prepare the cane box and place the engraving surface flat and stable on the laser bed. A clean, steady surface helps keep the Christmas pattern and text clear.

Secure the box if needed to prevent shifting during engraving, especially when working with fine holiday patterns, small text, or detailed decorative lines.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the Christmas box design file into LightBurn, then adjust the size, position, and engraving settings according to the cane box surface.

Double-check the Christmas blessing, tree pattern, and engraving area before starting. Make sure the design is centered and fits the box surface properly.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving clear engraving on the cane box. For this project, use the normal focus position first, then apply the required defocusing distance of Parfocal + 2.5 to soften the engraving effect and reduce excessive surface burning.

STEP04

Start Engraving

Use the Frame function to outline the laser engraving area. Make sure the projected frame matches the box surface and the Christmas design stays within the selected boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving process carefully.

Post Processing

When the engraving is complete, carefully remove the cane box from the laser bed.

Lightly clean the engraved surface if needed, then place your Christmas creations inside. The finished box can be used for holiday storage, gift presentation, or festive display.
