Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

For better laser marking results, the Apple Watch strap should be as flat as possible. To flatten the strap, use a simple mold made from 3mm basswood board.

Place the strap into the mold and check that it is flat before engraving. A stable, level surface helps the engraving stay clear and consistent.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the Apple Watch strap design into LightBurn and check whether your strap size is large enough for the engraving area.

Double-check the layout and decide whether you want to add or remove any design elements. Make sure the engraving parameters are set correctly before starting.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving clean engraving details on Liquid Silicone Rubber. If your machine has auto focus, use it first for quick setup. Then manually lower the worktable by 2 mm to create the required defocus distance before engraving.

STEP04

Start Engraving

Use the Frame function to outline the laser engraving area. Make sure the projected frame matches the Apple Watch strap and the design stays within the intended engraving area.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving progress. Keep an eye out for excessive smoke, alarms, or any movement that could affect the result.
