Key Information
Introduction
Are you looking for a practical laser-cut project using both plywood and PET?
This project uses 5mm plywood and 1mm PET to create a useful handmade piece. Plywood provides the main structure, while PET can be used for a thin, lightweight, and flexible part of the design.
With laser cutting, you can create accurate parts from different materials and assemble them into a clean, functional project. Always test your settings first, especially when switching between plywood and PET.
Before your work begins
Operational Process
Prepare & Position the Materials
Prepare the 5mm plywood and 1mm PET, then place the material flat on the laser working table.
Keep the material stable before cutting. The design should also be adjusted according to the actual type and size of the material before processing.
Import & Adjust the Design File
Draw or prepare the plywood and PET design file in CorelDraw, then switch to the laser software using the laser plug-in.
Set the proper cutting parameters for PET, then click Download to transfer the design to your laser cutting machine. Test plywood settings separately before cutting the final project.
Set the Correct Laser Focus
Move the laser head to the correct starting position and adjust the focal distance before cutting.
After focusing, press Origin on the control panel to set the starting position. Accurate focusing helps achieve cleaner cutting results on plywood and PET.
Frame the Design & Start Laser Cutting
Use the Frame function to check the cutting area and confirm that the design stays within the material.
Once everything is aligned, press Start to begin laser cutting. Stay near the machine and monitor the cutting process carefully.
Post Processing
After cutting, collect all the plywood and PET pieces and check that each part has been cut cleanly.
Assemble the parts by hand according to the design. Once finished, the plywood and PET project is ready for use or display.
Come and Try!
Combining plywood and PET gives this project both structure and lightweight flexibility, making it a useful material combination for creative laser-cut designs.
With a laser cutter, you can process different materials accurately and turn simple sheets into a clean, practical handmade project.
