Introduction

Want to own a truly customized calendar?

Try this unique perpetual calendar design. Simply laser engrave the days of the week, months, and dates, then hang the circular date and month discs onto the protruding pegs to display the current day.

Unlike fixed calendars made for a single year, this perpetual version can be reused again and again, making it a practical and eco-friendly organizational accessory.

Before your work begins

Clean the lens and mirrors
Check the laser head and nozzle for dust or buildup
Ensure ventilation and air assist are working properly
Confirm the machine is running smoothly and normally

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Prepare a wood plank and place it flat on the laser bed. A clean, stable surface helps keep the engraved text sharp and the cut pieces accurate.

Secure the wood if needed to prevent shifting during engraving and cutting, especially when processing the calendar discs, pegs, and base pieces.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Open your preferred laser software and import the perpetual calendar design file. Adjust the size and positioning to match your wood plank.

Double-check which elements are set for engraving and which are set for cutting. Make sure the days, months, dates, discs, and peg parts are correctly placed before starting.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is important for achieving detailed engraving and clean cutting edges on wood. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the wood surface at the correct angle.

Start Engraving & Cutting

Use the Frame function to outline the laser processing area. Make sure the projected frame matches your wood plank and the perpetual calendar design stays within the material boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and monitor the engraving and cutting process carefully.

Post Processing

When the engraving and cutting are complete, carefully remove the calendar pieces from the laser bed.

Use wood glue to bond the pieces securely and let the glue dry completely. Then hang the circular date and month discs onto the pegs, set the date, and enjoy your reusable perpetual calendar.
