Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Material

Pick bold patriotic acrylic colors to bring your 4th of July Decoration to life. This project uses 3mm red, white, navy, and light blue acrylic to create a vibrant layered design.

Place the acrylic flat on the laser bed and make sure it stays secure. Use pins or magnets to prevent shifting during stroking and cutting.

STEP02

Import & Adjust the Design File

Import the 4th of July Decoration design into LightBurn and check whether your acrylic size is large enough. To help the decoration sit perfectly at the center of the base, keep an outline guide for easier alignment during assembly.

Double-check the file for misalignments or unnecessary overlaps. Make sure the stroking and cutting parameters are set correctly, especially the minimum power for clean corners.

STEP03

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Accurate focusing is critical for achieving clean stroking lines and smooth cutting edges on acrylic. If your machine has auto focus, use it for quick setup. For manual focusing, lower the laser head with the focus stick until it touches the acrylic surface at the correct angle.

STEP04

Start Stroking & Cutting

Use the Frame function to outline the stroking and cutting area. Make sure the projected frame matches your acrylic sheet and the design stays within the material boundary.

Once everything is aligned, start the laser job. Stay near the machine while it’s running and watch the cutting process. Keep an eye out for excessive smoke, alarms, or any movement of the material that could affect the result.

Post Processing

When the acrylic laser cutting is complete, carefully remove all pieces from the laser bed. Wipe away dust or residue before assembly.

Assemble the decoration layer by layer. Glue the light blue and red pieces onto the navy blue base, align the white “4th of July” lettering as the top layer, and finish the design with the small stars around the edges.
