Introduction

Let’s turn brass into wonderful wax seals with laser marking.

Laser marking can create deep custom designs on brass with clean precision, making it ideal for wax seals used on letters, invitations, packaging, handmade gifts, or branded stationery.

In this tutorial, you will learn how to position the brass wax seals, import the marking file, set the correct focus, frame the design, run the marking and cleaning layers, and complete personalized brass wax seals with Aurora Lite.

Before your work begins

Operational Process

STEP01

Prepare & Position the Brass Wax Seals

Place the brass wax seals on the laser bed with the marking surface facing upward.

Make sure the brass surface is clean, flat, and stable before processing. A stable setup helps the design stay aligned and supports deep, consistent marking.

Import & Adjust the Marking File

Load your design into LightBurn software, then adjust the size and position to fit the brass wax seals.

This file includes two layers. The black layer creates the deep marking on the brass, while the red layer cleans the brass surface after marking. Check both layers and make sure the parameters are set correctly before starting.

Set the Correct Laser Focus

Missing the focus is one of the biggest reasons for laser marking failure. Make sure the brass seal surface is properly focused before processing.

You can use auto focus or manual focus. When the focus is accurate, the marked details will appear cleaner and more consistent on the brass surface.

Frame the Design & Start Laser Marking

Press the frame button and check whether the red light indicates the correct marking area. The frame should fit the brass wax seals.

If the frame is not aligned, adjust the design position until it fits correctly. After checking, close the laser door and begin the Aurora Lite laser marking process.

Post Processing

Stay near the machine during operation and monitor for unusual sounds or alarms. Avoid looking directly at the laser beam for too long, even when protective measures are in place.

After the marking layer is complete, run the cleaning layer to clean the brass surface. Then open the door carefully, remove the personalized brass wax seals, and clean them gently before use.
