National Day emerged with the founding of the People’s Republic of China. On October 1, 1949, the Central People’s Government was established, marking the birth of an independent nation. Prior to this, China endured a long period of internal and external conflicts, causing immense suffering for its people. The establishment of the state signified the rebuilding of order. Every year on October 1, flag-raising ceremonies are held across the country to celebrate the founding of the People’s Republic. In significant anniversary years, parades and military displays are organized to commemorate this historic event.

Of course, China is not alone; every country has its corresponding national day, each representing different meanings but all commemorating the establishment of the nation.
